It is very sturdy with the nice soft cushions that attach easily to provide more comfort. My only caution would be that sitting in this very supported position for long periods - may cause some discomfort. So; with this I would advise to use the chair support for short periods until you are used to it - and of course as time goes on it will be more comfortable. Like a new pair of shoes it needs a little breaking in period. Also; unless you are a very tiny person I'd imagine the larger size would be best for most all adults.
